Privacy Policy

The short version

Right On Time does not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. There is no account, no login, and no analytics or advertising SDK. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Your commute profiles, schedules, saved places, calendar-derived commutes, alarm settings, and commute history are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). On-device storage also includes a small shared container used by the app's widgets and Siri shortcuts (so your Lock Screen widget can show your next wake and leave time), and Apple's TipKit stores which in-app tips you've seen. None of this is transmitted to us — we operate no servers and cannot see this data.

Information used to provide features

Location: With your permission, used only to set the starting point of a commute and compute drive times. Used while you use the app, never tracked in the background, never stored off your device.
Calendar: With your permission, read on your device to find events with addresses you may need to drive to. Event titles and details are processed locally and stay on your iPhone; the one exception is an event's location text, which is sent to Apple Maps to find the matching address so your drive can be planned. You can disable scanning anytime.
Traffic & maps: Route and traffic-time requests go to Apple Maps (MapKit), the same service the Maps app uses, and are not tied to your identity.
Weather: Forecasts come from Apple Weather (WeatherKit) for your destination, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

We do not receive any of the above — it is exchanged directly between your device and Apple's services.

Purchases

In-app purchases (Right On Time Pro) are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details — only anonymized, aggregate sales information.

Data deletion

You can delete all app data anytime in Settings → "Delete all my data." This permanently removes every profile, schedule, place, and history entry from your device. Deleting the app removes everything.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete on your behalf — your data never reaches us in the first place. We do not sell or share personal information, we do not profile you, and there is no advertising. The controls above (permission toggles, the calendar scanning switch, and full data deletion) are available to every user, everywhere.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
